About Studio Black

Studio Black was founded in 2015, with the goal of providing a place for local performers and artists to showcase their abilities. Studio Black produces several mainstage productions each year – including a full-scale musical – featuring an entirely local cast and creative team.  These popular productions are at the heart of Studio Black’s performance schedule, and feature performers of all ages and abilities.

An important part of Studio Black’s mandate is to promote theatre, music and arts education to the youth of Chatham-Kent. Each year, Studio Black offers a series of educational camps and P.A. Day programs that focus on a different area of the arts, such as live theatre, acting for the camera and visual arts.

Studio Black is also the home of the Chatham-Kent Children’s Chorus – a choir for children ages 6-14, which focuses on introducing choral music and performance to the youngest generation of aspiring CK performers.

Studio Black is growing each year with the goal of providing meaningful creative opportunities for local performers and artists. We know that the Creative Arts are an important part of a healthy, vibrant community. We recognize the tremendous talent in Chatham-Kent, and we’re committed to celebrating and encouraging growth in this area, while providing education and support to the next generation of performers, artists and patrons.
