Rachel Schwarz, Artistic Director
Rachel holds a Bachelor of Music from The University of Western Ontario, and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Literature from UWO. She brings almost two decades of teaching and performing experience to her work with Studio Black, as well as a personal understanding and appreciation for the work and commitment that is required to encourage the arts to flourish in a community.
She has trained and performed across Canada, the US and Europe, and is pleased to bring her knowledge and experience back to her hometown.
Growing up in C-K, Rachel’s childhood and early exposure to music were shaped by her experiences in Chatham-Kent as a young performer. The memories she made, the knowledge she gained and the friendships she forged have stayed with her and shaped her growth as a musician.
Rachel wants to share her knowledge and expertise with aspiring performers of all ages. She knows that experiencing and participating in the arts can be transformative, and she is committed to creating an environment for local artists and musicians can shine.
